Free Food Distribution in Nashville to Help Furloughed Federal Workers (Kaylin Jorge, WZTV Fox 17 News)

Posted 01/24/2019

Local furloughed federal employees are getting some help to feed their families.

Catholic Charities of Tennessee and Second Harvest Food Bank are giving away free food to workers directly impacted by the government shutdown.

Right now, around 800,000 federal workers aren't receiving paychecks.

The distribution will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Holy Name Parish Center at 508 Main Street in Nashville.

A federal employee ID is required to receive free food. Employees should also bring bags or boxes to carry their food.
