How Can I Help? (Updated information)

Posted 09/11/2017

The disaster related news we have been exposed to over the past few weeks has almost been unfathomable. Hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes...the list goes on and on.

As we struggle with the news, we also want to respond to the urge to do something...anything... to help in whatever way we can.

At this very early point in what we expect will be a very long recovery process, the needs are quite simple. Cash is the most critically important resource right now.

Cash can be quickly converted to respond to immediate needs by the agencies on the ground, such as various Catholic Charities agencies in our network.

With most agency staffs already out working to support search and recovery activities, the thought of accepting, sorting, inventorying, and distributing truckloads of goods sent out of caring generosity may actually be overwhelming to agencies who are already performing superhuman work. (This assumes, too, that there is even a facility available which has not already been impacted by the disaster where the processing activity might take place.)

OUR RECOMMENDATION:

If you would like to help out in some way, please consider making a donation to Catholic Charities USA which is in constant contact with all of the Catholic Charities agencies impacted by the disasters.

To make a Catholic Charities USA donation, you may:
• Go to http://bit.ly/CCUSADisasterReliefDonate and make your donation through their secure on-line donation site.
• Mail your check to: Catholic Charities USA, ATTN: Disaster Relief, 2050 Ballenger Avenue, Suite 400, Alexandria, VA 22314 - be sure to write "Disaster Relief" on your check's memo line.

100% of the funds received by CCUSA for disaster relief will be used for disaster relief efforts.

Thank you for your support! Thank you for your caring concern!
