GERIATRIC SERVICES- Catholic Social
Services has two geriatric programs. An adult day
program operates Monday through Friday from 7:00-5:00. Volunteer opportunities
include
assisting with meals; conducting arts or craft activities; performing a musical
instrument or
singing and other opportunities as well.
Living at Home is a cooperative effort of several agencies. Staff assesses a
person's skills and living conditions, making appropriate referrals to promote independent living
and prevent premature nursing home placements. Volunteers can make phone calls to the people
we serve, perform seasonal tasks in the home or yard and other tasks to help. There
are some opportunities to do one-time projects such as installing bath rails, etc.
