Strategic Plan 2024-2029
By 2029, Catholic Chariities will be the leader in Middle Tennessee in assisting people in need to achieve persistent self-reliance.
Catholic Charities’ five-year strategic plan seeks to grow our impact and advance our mission of bringing love, hope, and healing to our Middle Tennessee neighbors. Infused with grace-filled vision by our committee members, and approved by the board of trustees for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Nashville, the plan will guide our efforts through 2029. Building on our more than 60-year legacy, the strategic initiatives outlined below aim to enhance program impact, nurture and cultivate staff, deepen engagement with the community, and increase awareness of the work we do—to enable us to create lasting change, empower individuals, and strengthen our community.
Track the percentage of clients enrolled in coordinated care programs who achieve self-sufficiency milestones and maintain progress 12 months after program completion.
Support clients beyond the services we provide by implementing a long-term case management process for making referrals to external partners in Middle Tennessee.
Prioritize a relationship model over a transactional one. Formalize an internal referral pathway or referral process to ensure a broader array of needs are addressed for case management clients.
Develop and implement a plan to attract and hire passionate staff who align with our mission and meet defined training and experience standards. Track their tenure and advancement.
Support employee growth and development by providing learning opportunities to build their skills and stay current with industry standards. Measure employee participation rates in professional development programs and track skill and knowledge improvements.
Monitor retention rates and nurture a culture of continuous improvement using annual surveys and exit surveys. Prioritize a work environment that fosters a sense of belonging and staff wellbeing.
Track and increase the percentage of Catholic parishes and schools establishing Catholic Charities as a chosen ministry while fostering relationships with non-participants to encourage partnership.
Implement a plan to recruit and retain more active, focused volunteers, through appreciation and training events that steward and engage volunteers. Measure and track the volunteer-to-staff ratio and the number of volunteers by program/initiative to ensure a robust volunteer corps.
Monitor the number and impact of partnerships with essential community organizations, government entities, civic groups, and corporations to ensure we are a key partner in meeting community needs.
Expand intern recruitment and track the year-over-year number of interns, offering students valuable practical experience, tapping their expertise, and building an employee pipeline.
Strengthen our fund development operations, focusing on data assessment, diversifying and enlarging the donor pool, expanding fundraising actvities, and stewarding donors.
Enhance our profile and competitiveness in local, regional, and national arenas while strategically tracking grant applications, success rates, and our fund growth to strengthen our impact.
Spotlight our impact on the community and utilize metrics such as community partnerships, donation levels, web traffic, media coverage, and social media engagement to gauge and enhance our visibility.
