Completing the Circle of “Love, Hope, and Healing”
Yesterday, we talked about hope and how the combination of case management, counseling, and community connections fosters hopeful thoughts and feelings.
Love plus hope is a powerful combination, resulting in healing and self-reliance. Nurturing self-reliance in people is the gold-standard goal of social service agencies like Catholic Charities.
We call our event Pathways to Possibilities as an homage to the many ways that we help one another along the journey. Thank you to Bishop J. Mark Spalding for sharing his own journey of service to others.
The pathway to self-reliance is far more than just “getting a job.” Yes, job training and employment are important. But so is a supportive family, stable housing, access to quality healthcare and education – and all the wrap-around services that Catholic Charities provides directly to clients and through our many partners.
When one reaches the ultimate in healing and self-reliance, a blessed thing happens – you feel compelled to pay it forward to complete the circle of “Love, Hope, and Healing.” We hear that again and again in the words of our grateful and generous recipients.
Did you know that donations made directly to Catholic Charities from caring individuals like you is what truly builds the many pathways for our clients and makes all of this possible? And as you will see from our clients’ stories in tomorrow’s video, your support gets paid forward over and over, in the loving acts of those whom you have helped. Their kindness completes the circle of “Love, Hope, and Healing.” For your part in making that blessing happen, we will always be immensely grateful.
As the pandemic wanes and life begins to return to normal, we know from decades of experience that the repercussions of this year’s traumas will last for years. Catholic Charities will faithfully be here to support our neighbors just as we hope you will faithfully be here to support our important work.
Thank you for your prayers and financial contributions to Pathways to Possibilities and Catholic Charities’ mission of serving our neighbors.
