As we begin a new fiscal year at Catholic Charities, we’re filled with gratitude and renewed purpose. Even in the midst of changes, we continue to serve more than 25,000 Middle Tennessee neighbors each year—offering not only food and housing assistance but also dignity, encouragement, and a path forward. This important work is possible because of you. Your generosity has helped fill critical funding gaps and kept hope alive for thousands of individuals and families across our region.
We are uplifted by remarkable growth in support over the past year. Year-to-date contributions have increased by more than 50%, reaching nearly $1.65 million as of mid-June, with a 10% rise in donors. Grant revenue grew significantly also, underscoring the community’s faith in our mission. Though the sudden loss of New Americans program funding presented financial challenges, your steadfast support is helping us build a resilient foundation for the future. We will continue to help our neighbors in need through our many other programs.
Guided by our Strategic Plan, we have redistributed duties and aligned staff with core priorities, to respond directly to the most urgent needs. Neighbors who are experiencing job losses, rising housing costs, and shrinking public assistance have strengthened our commitment to providing Basic Needs support and Job Training—services that offer both immediate relief and long-term stability.
As we thoughtfully wind down our New Americans program, connecting clients to trusted community partners, some of our dedicated team members will transition to new roles. Meanwhile, Catholic Charities is flourishing in new ways, and we are deepening our focus on local families facing hunger, homelessness, and crisis. Programs like Loaves and Fishes, rent assistance, and disaster recovery allow us to meet people where they are and walk with them toward self-reliance.
Now is the time to build on this momentum. As we enter a new year of service, your continued financial support will help to ensure that those who come to Catholic Charities for help will not face hardship alone.
With deepest gratitude,
Judy K. Orr
