Dr. Deanna Webster, PHD, LMFT, LSW

Dr. Deanna Webster, PhD, LMFT, LSW has served in many leadership roles throughout her career with for-profit and non-profit entities and understands the larger impact of funding, the negative effects of stigmatizing those with mental health challenges, and how the lack of access to resources has impacted certain groups and their ability to get help for their mental health needs. She has and does serve on various boards to address the issue of mental health in our society and advocates for increased funding and resources to be utilized for behavioral health needs. Dr. Webster currently serves as the Director of Clinical Services at Catholic Charities, Nashville.

Clinically, Dr. Webster is an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), LSW (Licensed Social Worker) and has been in the field for 30 years. She has had a variety of experiences working in diverse settings and with a diversity of client populations as it relates to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and varied socioeconomic statuses. Dr. Webster’s experiences range from School-based Therapy to Foster Care, Long-term Care, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Crisis Stabilization, Inpatient Psychiatric Acute Care Hospitals, Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF) and Partial Day Hospitals. Within these settings, she has worked with a range of client types and diagnoses as a Play therapist, and as a Clinician working across the life span, with special emphasis on working with couples and families. She feels strongly, as a result of her Family Systems training, that the preservation of healthy family units, and providing them with the tools to be become stronger and more cohesive is of the upmost importance. This includes using a strength-based approach while honoring and valuing the client’s cultural, religious and/or spiritual choices in the therapeutic relationship.
