SewPOP is a student marketplace that showcases the work of Sewing Training Academy students and friends of the school.
The year’s SewPOP Open Market will be held Saturday, December 4, at The Clay Lady Campus, 1416 Lebanon Pike. The market is open to the public, and admission is free.
The event will showcase Nashville makers, including fiber artists, ceramicists, hat makers, sculptors, fine artists, ethnic clothing makers, jewelry makers, designers, boutique fashion shops and more. It will be the perfect opportunity to purchase unique gifts for the holidays while shopping local.
The market is being held in conjunction with The Clay Lady’s Annual Holiday Sale, which will be just steps away from the STA market.

Friday, December 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Nashville’s Cityside neighborhood will be hopping with SewPOP’s Opening Night Party. Purchase a ticket to enjoy first dibs on shopping, silent auction, entertainment, and food & drinks. (The price of the ticket includes two drink tickets and two food tickets.)

All ticket proceeds from SewPOP benefit the Sewing Training Academy.

A continuation of Pattern Drafting I, this course focuses on the advancement of technical skills through the completion of complex pattern drafting projects. Emphasis is on precision and the mastery of drafting techniques. Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Draft basic torso and pant slopers;
- Demonstrate the use of slopers to create complex designs;
- Apply clothing construction skills to develop muslin samples for dress form fit evaluations;
- Apply use of slopers to create assigned styles; and
- Utilize slopers to create original designs.
This course is for current Sewing Training Academy students only.
