Emotional Support

Short-term professional counseling is available from trauma-informed trained professional therapists on a sliding scale, based on income.

Catholic Charities Philosophy

We offer a holistic model of care, which includes mental health care, and we have been a trusted source of compassion and emotional support for decades. All our therapists are trauma-informed trained and are skilled in other clinical modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Spiritual Integration, just to name a few. Our therapists work across the lifespan providing services to children, adolescents, families, individuals, and couples. We follow the standards and ethical guidelines of the National Association of Social Workers and our staff is licensed by the state of Tennessee. Services are available at most of our locations, as well as St. Stephen Catholic Community in Old Hickory and St. Philip in Franklin. Some locations offer Spanish-speaking therapists.

43%

The percentage of adults who get treatment for a mental illness in a given year. That means nearly 60% who need treatment are not getting or seeking it. We have to change these stats by increasing access to services and eliminating any stigma about seeking help.
